TV Channel 10 Coverage Distorts Our Goals
On Thursday, August 14 about 40 of us gathered along Winton Road opposite the site for the proposed hotel/retail/office complex to protest rezoning. The rally was covered by several media outlets, including TV Channel 10, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, and the Brighton/Pittsford Post. TV Channel 10's coverage, while not unsympathetic to us, did distort our goals, by suggesting that we hoped to nix any development at all on the land. I, and all of the other opponents of the huge development project I have spoken to, are well aware that Mr. Costello owns the land and can build on it. We are asking that the town retain the current zoning on this land, or honor the 2000 Town Comprehensive Plan.
